1996 O'Neill Show
The Eleventh Hour
a relevant & irreverent look at mental illness
1996 was a tough year for mental health in CT. Providers were scrambling to keep people employed, there were layoffs galore in the wake of the state hospital closing. It was also a tough year for the O'Neill show! In true "the show must go on" fashion, we kept going despite torrential rains and a hurricane warning and a leaking roof. Becca's intro included a request to audience members in the balcony to please dump the buckets that kept filling up with water from the leaking roof! Judy got left behind and was whisked into the theater at the very last minute in her costume for the first skit, and performed like a trouper!
