Wellness Program

Walking Club 3 Times a Week!


Here is a frightening statistic: people who have mental illnesses die an average of 25 years earlier than the rest of the population.


Artreach loves its members, and is TAKING ACTION by offering a Walking Club that meets three times every week. Door to door transportation is provided (as it is to all Artreach activities and events). In warmer months, the walks are at Mohegan Park. Nature is a great healing tool as well as the walking! We love feeding the squirrels and chipmunks and community with turtles, geese and ducks.

Mindfulness for Stress Reduction


Artreach has had the opportunity to offer a a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction class taught by senior staff from the Center for Mindfulness in Worcester, MA. This incredible class helped members, Board members, and some interested community participants to begin a practice in moment to moment awareness. We practiced conscious movement (yoga, tai chi) and even used some poetry and creative arts practices.


Members reported having life changing experiences from this class. Artreach looks forward to offering the training again when funding allows.



Thrill the World offers several weeks of dance classes as well as an opportunity to participate in Artreach's annual fundraising event!
